Sacramental Program

In the Archdiocese of Brisbane the Sacramental Program for Children is a three-year program. A child must be aged 8 or over and have been baptised Catholic. The program includes the Sacraments of Confirmation, First Holy Communion and Penance (the latter is also known as Reconciliation or Confession).

This program is a partnership in which families and the Parish community work together in the preparation and celebration of the Sacraments.

Every year we celebrate three Sacraments in our Parish:

CONFIRMATION

For baptised Catholic children in Year 3 and above

Wednesday, 30 April (7:00–8:00pm)
Parent Information Session
(Enrolment forms and workbooks distributed)
Enrolments close: Monday, 12 May
Workshop for Candidates
- Tuesday, 13 May (3:30–5:00pm)

- Sunday, 18 May (11:15am–12:45pm)
Thursday, 5 June (3:30–4:30pm)
Rehearsal for Liturgy
Friday, 6 June (6:00pm) Liturgy of the Rite of Confirmation

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION

For baptised Catholic children in Year 4 and above
Weekend of 30–31 August
Celebrate at any Parish Mass
Preparation dates will be published by end of May.

FIRST RECONCILIATION
For baptised Catholic children in Year 5 and above

Please contact the Parish Office to arrange preparation and celebration.

Preceding the celebration of Confirmation and First Holy Communion, it is necessary for at least one parent/caregiver to attend the Information Session if they wish to enrol their child for the sacrament. The candidate's attendance at the Preparation Workshop is also compulsory. KEY DATES for First Holy Communion will be published here by end of June.
